Wooden monkey mask, representing the Barong, a protective monster/guardian from Balinese Hinduism. Hand-carved in Tegallalang, Bali, Indonesia. Fair trade. Carved from light wood, the body of the mask is in varnished wood with black, red and gold details. It has a fitting that makes it easy to hang on the wall, but it can be actually used as a mask if elastic is put through hole in the ears. Size: about 8" wide (20 cm), 9" (22 cm) high. Size may vary a little bit, depending on the size of the tree-trunk that they are carved from.
All the masks are hand-carved and individually painted, so there may be some small difference in size or details between the one pictured and the one you will receive - although they will all be same colour, shape and roughly similar size.
