I've been experimenting with MANY headsets over the last year, I had previously used a Heil headset til now.  This element far exceeds mic specs for optimum use with today's radio technology.
Aside from the other headsets I would rather operate with, I designed an application for a direct solder in replacement that brings Hi-Fi audio and new life to my old Heil headset.  Upgrade your old contest headset and get good audio reports!!!
It's a 10 minute job to replace and it works great!!  Features great sound with full range audio, and I've been getting nothing but excellent 'ON AIR' audio reports ("Sounds just like you, Bob!"). It's such a great performer (and great deal) that I've made it available in a kit.

This auction is only for the "W2ENY HC-HIFI Clear Speech Element" kit with short tinned leads for your headset.  The Headset is shown for illustration only.
**This is an FET amplified electret mic element,
you may have to mod your Heil adapter cable to pass DC bias to the element from inside your mike connector - not a big job but please download the online instructions before buying.
Icom - Jump or remove a series cap inside the 8 pin connector
Yaesu - Resistor connects from pin 2 to center conductor (ONLY - 847, 920, 950, 2000, 2000D, 1000MP, 1000MP Mk V, Field)
TenTec 4 pin - Resistor connects from pin 4 to pin 1
Kenwood - Resistor connects from pin 5 to pin 1
