DESCRIPTIONVtg 70s Vogue Designer Original 1391 Bellville Clever Seam Dress/Jacket-10/32.5
Vogue Designer Original #1391 dates to 1976.
This awesome dress by British designer Belinda Bellville has a flattering princess seam cut with drop waist and clever v-seams with inseam pocket.
The skirt flares below that with soft fullness and the seaming is echoed at the upper bodice.
In my opinion the made up version you see in the photo would look much better in a softer, more fluid fabric.
It is complete, printed, in excellent uncut condition, has pattern catalog page but no envelope.
I just purchased all of the patterns from the estate of a lady who did a lot of sewing and evidently had some kind of good connection at a pattern store.
She had quite a few patterns that are uncut without envelopes.
I’m not sure if they still do this but in the old days stores were instructed to return the envelopes only of patterns that did not sell.
Presumably this was to keep postage costs down.
I suspect that most of these patterns went home with the employees of the store.
That is why you will sometimes see patterns that are otherwise new with no envelope.
The previous owner of this pattern would cut the appropriate page from the pattern catalog and fold it around the pattern, so you have the same information as the envelope, just not the envelope itself.

My Pattern Info
I list quite a few patterns from time to time so here is some information about my process.
·
All individually listed patterns have been counted and graded for condition.
·
Patterns listed in lots of 5+ have usually not been counted.
·
Complete means just that, all pattern pieces, instructions, and any transfers or things of that nature are present.
·
All individually listed patterns come in a protective archival (acid-free) sleeve or bag.
Sometimes when pattern pieces are counted and refolded the pieces are too bulky to safely fit back into the envelope and are included in the archival sleeve separate from the envelope in order to prevent further damage.
This is especially true of patterns with large voluminous pieces such as 50s style full skirts.
·
Patterns up to a count of 3 are shipped in high quality, stiff photo mailers to prevent damage in transit.
·
Pattern lots of more than 3 are shipped in a box in order to prevent damage.
·
I welcome combined shipping.
·
My photos will always include a shot of the pattern piece outlines and any description present on the envelope with zoom and enlargement available.
·
As a serious seamstress I will sometimes offer patterns that are well-loved or otherwise compromised if I feel they have design merit that is too good to throw away.
These will be priced accordingly.
