    Description

You have a Tormek sharpening system. And you have an axe to grind. Literally, mind you (we just had to say that). And that’s exactly what this Axe Sharpening Jig is made for. It attaches to your Tormek Sharpener and allows you to glide your Carving or Carpenters axe with consistent precision. The rubber-edged clamp holds your axe firm, and at the perfect angle, allowing the edge to be sharpened by the full width of the grindstone. Straight or curved edges can be followed with minimal effort. The jig is designed so that the rotation of the stone presses the axe firmly into the jig so that you only need to hold and guide the axe with your hands. It also ensures a full contact, without additional pressure, meaning the tool won’t overheat, and your axes lifespan is greatly increased (it sharpens the blade without dramatically taking off excess metal.) Again, for axe sharpening, it gets no better than a Tormek sharpening system and our axe sharpening jig. Another important aspect is this is part of the complete Tormek water-cooled sharpening system that will make your entire shop’s worth of tools finely honed, while taking less metal off the tools and bits, increasing longevity. Your tools will love it, and you’ll love your sharp tools.

    From the Manufacturer
Tormek SVA-170 Axe Jig is used for carving and carpenter’s axes. The head of the axe supports freely on the rubber-lined stop so you can follow the shape of an individual edge, straight or curved. The jig comprises of a clamp with a rubber-lined, wedge-shaped stop, which holds the axe in the fixed position towards the grindstone. The clamp works on the Universal Support, on which it slides across the stone. The jig is designed so that the rotation of the stone presses the axe firmly into the jig so that you only need to hold and guide the axe with your hands. This jig only works with the stone running towards the edge. If necessary, the honing wheel can be removed to allow clearance for the axe handle.

Once your order has been processed and we have received cleared payment, your item will be shipped as soon as possible. We do not drop-ship. All items ship from our Hartville, Ohio warehouse by either USPS, UPS, or FedEx. With our free shipping offer, we reserve the right to select the carrier and method of shipment.
To speed the order process, if you have both a physical street address and a separate mailing address (e.g. PO Box), please provide both during the checkout process, as it'll prevent any delays from us having to contact you after the fact to obtain further information to complete your order.
As a general guideline, orders that are physically small in size and have a order value of less than 0 are typically shipped by USPS Priority Mail, USPS First Class Mail, or UPS SurePost, so we'll need a valid mailing address to complete. Orders over 0 regardless of size are typically shipped by either UPS Ground or FedEx Ground, so we must have a physical street address to complete the order. For proper insurance and tracking, high value orders cannot be shipped to a PO Box address.
