    Description

The world lost one of the truly greats when Paolo Becker passed away, however his (and Fritz's) legacy lives on with Becker pipes remaining a staple in high grade Italians. This pipe was made by Paolo just before his passing and is a fine example of the quality in craft and aesthetics. A stack Billiard, it fits comfortably in hand, lightweight and well balanced while carrying extra thick walls with a slightly rounded rim leading to a deep and cavernous chamber. As the bowl tapers down it transitions to a 3/4+ bend with a sturdy oval shank that meets the original Cumberland stem with lovely "grain", slight fishtail bit, inlaid briar ring, and classic "b" logo. The finish reminds me of a Castello Antiquari, a rich and inviting amber while the rustication is deep and craggy with exceptional hand feel. Near mint, this Becker by Paolo comes complete with box and sock and is not to be missed!
