    Description

    Hand
forging bushcraft Tanto Blade hand maded by Japanese Master blacksmiths
Thank you for your interest in our products.
I will  explain the history of the area where the product is produced. Tosa cutlery has a long history,
dating back to 600 years ago. Japan at that time was not yet united, and the Sho-Gun were fighting
blood-washing wars in various places to expand their territory. Therefore, many swords were needed in
various parts of Japan, and powerful Sho-Gun began to carry many sword-smiths in their territories. As
time passed and the world became peaceful and stable, sword-smiths gradually shifted from weapons to
the production of tools necessary for agriculture, forestry and fisheries. That is Tosa Knife, which is one
of the leading producers of forged knives in Japan today. This TANTO blade is a blade forged (Uchi-
    Hamono) by muster blacksmith.
Uchi-Hamono in Japan uses HAGANE ("YSS", Aogami-2) for the middle blade and wraps the outside with soft iron so that the soft iron absorbs the impact during use. This will result in a blade that is highly durable against bending and breakage of the blade. This is the same process as when making a Japanese KATANA sword. In addition, the blade finish is "Kuro-uchi" (blackened traditional rust prevention) rather than high-polished. The high polish finish looks good but will always rust as long as it is made of carbon steel. Providing a black finish will delay the occurrence of rust.
This product is all the ones in the photo.
    Includes knife handle and sheath.
Think of the sheath as a gift.
    *NOTE
The sheath is made of magnolia tree.
The same material as the sheath of a Japanese sword does not damage the knife
blade when inserting and removing the knife.
