Description
Rod Jensenis a fairly new knife maker who really has a great imagination. The handle is a composite material that really gets nice looking when being worked. The damascus blade was made by a steel maker somewhere in Oregon who specializes in his own Damascus. Nice looking patterns, too. The leather sheath is commercially made. If you look at the striations on the back of the damascus blade you can see that it is real damascus, unlike the Chinese blades and most kitchen cutlery that claim to be folded. Damascus is made by folding the metal during the forging process. The other parts of the handle are
nickel silver. Really a nice looking father's day gift that is reasonably priced. Just get it.
This piece is on consignment so there is no return.
The knife is available for sale locally at Hawthorne Cutlery and local antique and knife shows in the Portland, OR area. If we ever have them again. Hawthorne Cutlery is open Tuesday thru Sat. from 11ish to 4ish during this pandemic. Masks and clothing are optional. There might be a Puyallup Antique show in Oct, and it is the biggest in the NW and maybe anywhere. Their words, not mine, but it is a big show. BIG!
Don't forget the Antique Japanese Sword Shows the might still happen around the country. The first is in August (maybe) at the San Francisco Airport Marriott and the second is in Orlando and that date has tentatively been set for Oct. 16th, 17th, and 18th. Both are wonderful three day shows.
Not offered internationally
unless you consider Orlando to be international. It's not, it's just Florida.
