Beautiful Barbados Handmade Cloth Doll 13" Women's Self Help Assoc 1955

Description

This 13" brown doll from Barbados, is handmade and made beautifully.  She carries a knitted bowl on her head with real shells. Her hair is wool yarn, her features are embroidered.  She has a real shell necklace.  She carries two satchels, one is knitted with a rayon yarn and the other woven with a straw. Her clothes are cotton.  She is not jointed.
Her stapled tag reads: Women's Self Help Association / Trafalgar Square / Bridgetown Barbados / No 156 / Sub 306 / with a date that looks to be 1955.
